Europa Technologies publish a map each day at 3GSM World Congress Asia – Day 3, “The World of GSM by Night”

Europa Technologies has published a GSM map for each of the three exhibition days of this year’s 3GSM World Congress Asia 2006 in Singapore. On the final exhibition day of this premier event, GSMA Award nominee Europa Technologies has released an updated map showing the world of GSM by night. The map be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat PDF format from www.coveragemaps.com

The map shows the relationship between GSM coverage and light pollution (sourced from NASA) indicative of urbanisation. GSM currently serves over 2.1 billion subscribers out of a global population of 6.5bn. According to the Universal Access study produced by Intellicom and the GSM Association (released at 3GSM World Congress Asia), over 90% of the worlds population will have access to mobile networks by 2010.
